It’s a new year and a new you (or not)…not to mention the hype about 2012. I buy into the hype, but on the level of concepts and systems which no longer serve us are going to fall away. And what we bring in to replace them, both personally and as a community, is going to be up to us.

Each year, when writing my goals, I look at the energy for the year. The energy on my goals for this year is huge, GIANT! It is so big, in fact, that I realize I have to make space for them. What does that tell me? Change is ahead. And some of that change may be painful. I am a control freak by nature, and one of the hardest things for me to do is to let go and allow…allow myself to not have to control my future or make everything perfect, which is really no fun at all. I know from experience that change is a better deal.

Not all change throughout the year will be hard. Once things in 2012 get rolling, the year brightens. The first few months of the year I see are the most difficult with adjustments. This is because a lot of us are doing reflecting. Even though the past year is over, many of us spend January on our resolutions, kicking ourselves for not doing them or just reiterating in our heads, “What’s wrong with me, why can’t I…”. On the other hand, some of us approach the new year with enthusiasm and joy, ready to release those things that no longer serve us. It is in this reflection and releasing that we declare our intentions to ourselves, define what we really and truly want and make the map for how to get there. This is when we really listen to ourselves as spirit and heed our “wake up calls.” Heeding these wake up calls creates change on the most internal levels, making us vulnerable and sensitive. Thus, it’s important to be nice and gentle with yourself as well as have compassion for those around you, because everyone (yes, everyone) is in a growth period, making room for their next big thing.

So, what is it that you really want? How do you want to get there? How do you want to set the tone of your 2012? If you’d like a reading on your year ahead and goals, let me know (and there’s a discount too!).  Click here for details!

Best wishes for a wonderful 2012!-Amy
